PLEASE TELL YOUR EXTRAORDINARY TALE ABOUT THE MOHAWK VALLEY:
A few years ago a friend of mine, Heidi, had recently lived with her boyfriend Jeff close to the Stockade area in Schenectady. He had salvaged his mother’s old paintings that were very dear to her. They hung them up on the second floor of the house. Things started to happen slowly, a shadow here, a noise there, etc… Then one day as Heidi was cleaning the kitchen a book clearly flew across the room. She picked it up and placed back up on to the shelf but did not mention to anyone.

Heidi has two boys, one much younger than the other, and didn’t want to scare anyone. A few months later everyone was getting ready to leave the house for a hockey game and as Heidi was cleaning up in the bathroom, she saw a shadow behind her reflected in the mirror. She turned around and no one was there. The kids, Jeff and the dog were already waiting for her in the car. The whole way to the hockey game Heidi was secretly freaking out. After a while, things did not work out between Heidi and Jeff and they both went their separate ways but Jeff let Hiedi keep the paintings as she really liked them. After a few more months of odd noises and shadows Heidi realized that maybe Jeff’s mom was attached to those paintings somehow. Once she returned them to Jeff the noises and shadows ended. Only until recently. After three years of peace Heidi was cleaning out the garage with an old feather duster which just happened to once belong to Jeff’s mother too. As Heidi was walking past the door it shut on her fingers pretty hard. There was no wind. No gravity helping the door close. It was as if someone had just slammed the door on purpose. Heidi looked at the feather duster and immediately threw it out. What she also realized was that a few days prior to the incident she had been talking to her sister. During their conversation Heidi had mentioned  how Jeff’s mom had passed, by taking her own life. Sad, but true. I guess Jeff’s mom didn’t like anyone having her belongings or talking about her.

This just happened recently, too, so it is still uncertain if things will settle down again. I had her permission to tell this story, by the way, I will watch my step the next time I go over there!
