The Background:
In mid August of 1993, two friends and I stumbled upon something bizarre in the middle of a field on Vickerman Hill just outside of Mohawk, NY–what some might consider to be Jordanville or Columbia Center. Since they first appeared in June, my friends and I had been obsessed with checking out the crop circles that formed on June 21, 1993 in the field. There were Four circles were linked by pathways that appeared on a steep hill, that were accessible form Vickerman Hill.
I was there. I stood in the middle of this crop circle and got the chills. It felt magnetic and truly filled with energy at 1pm during the summer afternoon.

My Story:
One night, I was driving by the crop circles with two of my buddies, Tim B. and Bill G. As I sat in the backseat of Bill’s car, I saw a pink light eminating from the field. I called it out and nobody believed me. After we settled down and had a couple of beers on a close by dirt road, I convince Bill and Tim to go back to the field to prove me wrong. When we got back there we all saw it. So we decided to sneak down into the field and see what the hell it was. I was scared for sure but more curious than frightened.
As we approached we could see two people and some sort fo device. Just as we approached a tall caucasian man wearing a black Chicago Bulls hooded sweatshirt, jumped out and scared us. Both Tim and BIll ran away but I stayed. I was frozen somewhere in between scared shitless, amazement and the desire to gain knowledge. As I began to reason with the guy, he apologized and actually invited me to view what he and his two other companions were doing. I called Tim and Bill to come back and they did.
We investigated this situation, to find that it was actually people doing research! One was a Japanese man who was working with NYU studying psychic brainwaves, he was working with a very cute, blonde haired foreign girl who barley spoke English. This girl who was with this man and another white gentleman in the Bulls sweatshirt, claimed that she was abducted and brought there originally by a UFO. She was hooked up to this machine, which was wrapped around her head, like a headband, while sitting in the middle of the circle.
He gave me his business card and his name was Masahiro Kahata and he studied these Crop Circles in 1993.
Ironically, the beauty of the internet has allowed me to track these people down and find them years later.

Columbia Center Crop Circles: Reported Crop Circles for the State of New York
Vickerman Hill, Columbia Center / Mohawk/Jordanville/ Mohawk Valley, Herkimer County (June 21, 1993)
Four circles were found linked by pathways appeared on a steep hill. The circle diameters were: 20’5”, 45’, 43’5”, and 88’. All the circles were slightly elliptical in the North-South direction. Three of the circles were swirled clockwise, with one circle counter-clockwise. Two of the pathways were found to extend about halfway to the centers of two of the circles, while the rest of the pathway ends terminated at the meeting point with the circles.
Areas of ‘randomly-downed’ crop also in the field. Expulsion cavities and lateral node splitting was found. BOL’s reported. The Syracuse Herald-Journal on 8-2-1993 reports that a passing truck driver claims he witnessed several objects hovering in the air above the field just before the formation was discovered, and that thunderstorms were reported in the area around the time of discovery. W.C. Levengood analyzed samples taken from the formation and found significant node bending as compared to the controls, ‘expulsion cavities’, growth suppression in germination studies, and reduced electrical conductivity (Alpha Change) in the bract tissue surrounding the seeds. NY State Police turned up no evidence to suggest a hoax.

About:
Masahiro Kahata began his electronics and computing research studies in 1965 at the Tomakomai National Technical College in Japan.Masahiro was involved with the many technological innovations flowing out of Japan since the 1970s.These include the origin of digital technology, the interface of digital technology to sound systems, and the development of the 8″ floppy disk.At the time, Masahiro was the first user in Japan of custom-designed Integrated Circuits (IC) and Operational Amplifier (OP AMP) to use with an audio system and mixing console.This has now become a standard practice within the industry.Also during the 1970s, following a personal psychic experience, Masahiro began Psychic Labs, Inc., to conduct research on psychic phenomena, which led to his later development of brain wave technology.
From 1984 through 1987, Masahiro served as Chief Lab Researcher for Japan’s leading Computer Corporation, ASCII.Here he performed research on human interface design for a new computer system, which led to his development of what would become the Interactive Brainwave Visual Analyzer (IBVA) technology.
From 1995 on, Masahiro has continued private research with Crop Circles and other psychic phenomena, traveling extensively and upgrading IBVA software.Most recently, he launched the IBVA Coherence Project for advanced users with Ian Macfarlane in Cape Town, South Africa (Coherence Project South Africa 2002).In 1987, he left the Japanese Hi-Tech Industry to work full-time on the IBVA as Psychic Labs, Inc., and moved to the USA the following year.After also moving his company to New York, the IBVA brainwave technology began to ship in 1991.It attracted much media interest and publicity.In 1993-94, Masahiro joined with partners to start IBVA Technologies, Inc.The IBVA won a product award at the prestigious MacWorld Convention in New York in 1998.Masahiro left IBVA Technologies in August of 2002.He is now working privately at Psychic Labs, Inc.
